An arahant. In the time of Vipassī Buddha he was a cakkavāka dwelling on the banks of the river Sindhu. One day, seeing the Buddha travelling through the air, the bird offered him a sāla flower in its beak.
Seventeen kappas ago he was king eighteen times under the name of Sucārudassana (Ap.i.113).
He is probably identical with Punnamāsa Thera. ThagA.i.53f.
