1. Mahāpanāda. Son of Suruci and king of Mithilā. He owned a palace one hundred storeys high, all of emerald; it was one thousand bow-shots (twenty five leagues) high and sixteen broad and held six thousand musicians.
Mahāpanāda was a previous birth of Bhaddaji. See the Mahāpanāda Jātaka and also Kosalā. See also Sankha (3).
